UTM Setup

Add UTM tags to your chatbot's links, and your dashboard shows you how many times each link was clicked, where it was clicked from, and who clicked it.

1. Filling In the Five Fields

In Reply Settings, click any supported reply type (circled in red), switch on Enable UTM Parameters, and fill in these five fields (only the first is required):

Field
What it tags
Example

utm_source*

Which platform it's sent from

line

utm_medium

Which position or format it's clicked from

mainmenu, share_button

utm_campaign

Which campaign it belongs to

regular, summer_promo

utm_content

Which feature or asset it leads to

member_management

utm_term

The most granular breakdown (optional)

member_page

Naming rule: all lowercase, use underscores, keep terms consistent. line and LINE are counted as two different sources — don't mix them.

2. The Trick: Same Button, Different Spots

The same Member Center button should be filled in differently depending on whether it sits in the main menu or in a campaign share flow:

Field
Main Menu version
Campaign Share version

utm_source

line

line

utm_medium

mainmenu

share_button

utm_campaign

regular

demo

utm_content

member_management

member_management

utm_term

member_page

search_points_reward

Recommended approach:

  • Same destination → keep source and content the same

  • Different position or campaign → change medium and campaign accordingly

Tag them this way, and your dashboard can tell how many people each entry point brought in.

3. Where to See the Results

Go to UTM Analytics in your dashboard and start with three numbers:

  • Total Clicks: total number of clicks (including repeats)

  • Unique Clicks: clicks after removing the same person's repeats

  • Unique Visitors: how many different people actually clicked

To compare which entry point works better → switch to the Medium dimension. To see who clicked → switch to the User Analysis tab, which drills down to individual User IDs and lets you message them directly.

4. If You're Running GA

  • MantaGO covers the click: which touchpoint drove the traffic, and who clicked

  • GA covers what happens next: whether they browsed, whether they converted, how much it was worth

When the UTM naming matches on both sides, GA can work out how many of the people brought in by a given campaign actually converted.

Note: The two sides de-duplicate differently (member vs. device), so it's normal for the numbers not to match down to the digit — just watch the trend.
